Somehow this week turned out to be ‘permitting’ week. All of our boats are required to have three sets of annual permissos in order to work as commercial dive boats.
The port captain issues a seguros maritimos – which means we undergo an annual inspection by an marine engineer employed by the port captain’s office. The port captain also renews the toursta nautica – which guarantees everything is in place to transport tourists. All of the paperwork needs to be in place – read insurance policies – and the boat then undergoes an inspection. The Amigo Tres is scheduled for an inspection this coming Monday. The Amigo Uno will be inspected in November and the Amigo Dos was inspected earlier this year.
Then it is off to CONANP, the government agency that monitors the environment. Another set of paperwork for all three boats and another set of sign-offs and approvals. In thirty days or so we will get our official stamped paperwork from LaPaz.
