Open Water Referral Overview

You can review the theories and training materials in the comfort of your own at your own convenience. After completing the online training, you can finish the Open Water Referral course in a stunning location that offers an incredible variety of marine life in a safe underwater environment. What better way to start out your scuba diving adventure!

Operation: Daily

Duration: 2-day course with a total of 4 dives

Requirements: Current Referral Letter

Think of this process sort of like Drivers Ed in the United States. You do your classroom and pool sessions in the United States and then we finish your certification, essentially the road test part of your license, down here in the amazing Sea of Cortez.

In the PADI Open Water Diver course, you will learn to use basic scuba gear, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device, and a tank.

Getting Started
The Open Water Referral is a standard part of the Amigos Del Mar scuba diving instruction program here in Cabo San Lucas, so we really understand that our goal is to make your first dives in the sea comfortable, enjoyable and safe. You will be assigned a PADI-certified dive instructor that will oversee your training from start to finish.

We view this process as the beginning of your lifetime of diving adventures as a certified scuba diver and we go to extra length to make the process safe, seamless and, most of all, fun.
